The day will be closed by two powerful and inspirational women. First we have Tineke Bakker – van der Veen, as Managing Director of Boeing she leads Boeing’s science, technology, and engineering projects. She will be the one to tell us whether we will be flying our personal flying devices to work in the coming decades.
After Tineke’s visionary keynote we will welcome Neelie Kroes on the stage. She has earned her stripes as former politician on regional, national, and European level. Neelie Kroes served 11 years as EU Commissioner, the first term as EU Commissioner for Competition Policy and the second term as Commissioner in charge of the Digital Agenda for Europe. It pitted her against mighty American giants running rampant in Europe such as Microsoft and Intel – who ended up paying a total of some 2 billion Euros in 2008 and 2009 for non-competitive practices.
As retired politician Neelie Kroes announced she “would not be tending roses in my retirement”. She devoted herself on initiatives that boost the Dutch startup ecosystem. The “Internet Tsar” also served on various advisory and company boards, including Uber, Salesforce, McDonalds, and Volvo.
